About Us Digital Marketing Matters

Based in Warrington, Cheshire, Digital Marketing Matters was established in May 2016 by Managing Director Carl McGurk. Carl has an encyclopaedic knowledge of what makes a successful digital marketing campaign gained through working for some of the UK’s biggest brands and digital marketing agencies. He has extensive experience in online traditional paid and organic search advertising, Google AdWords, and creating targeted campaigns combining all these digital marketing tools. Carl has recruited a team of associates who are equally as experienced and share his own values, work ethic and desire to deliver effective, results driven campaigns

A welcome call helps us to get to know you and your business, laying the foundations for our partnership. We’ll explain the reasons for using digital marketing and agree your business objectives, for example, increasing enquiries or turnover, and your budget for the campaign.

If you approach us looking for a specific service but we don’t feel it’s right for your business, we’ll be upfront and tell you, recommending alternatives.

We’re driven to help our clients achieve the best possible results from their campaign. Analysis of campaign data allows us to do this. We provide you with monthly measurement reports with complete analysis and breakdown of conversions and referrals. Carl McGurk

Managing Director

Carl is a trained accountant and a self-confessed numbers man. Be it profit, engagement, enquiries, conversion, analytics or turnover, he loves a good statistical fact, preferably a profitable one!

Carl has 14+ years’ digital marketing experience from both client and Agency side. In 2010 he was headhunted by Web Marketing Group (WMG), the 3rd biggest SEO and digital agency in the UK, to take on the role of Senior SEO Consultant. Here he worked to build successful digital marketing campaigns for clients across a variety of sectors including computer security, foreign exchange, fashion and the construction industry.

Carl has survived personal challenges in his life that made him the man he is today. He has channelled negative situations into a drive and determination to achieve success in his own business and results for his clients. It’s this strong work ethic and desire to design lasting solutions that led him to start his own business.

Cathy began her digital marketing journey in 2014, working on affiliate marketing campaigns to increase business visibility by generating online reviews and product links. Her work involved ranking keywords globally to generate profit. From here she moved on to search engine optimisation, working directly with businesses to help clients move up the search rankings. Cathy also owns her own business so understands the challenge faced by many small business owners to get noticed in the online world. She enjoys supporting businesses to actively seek out new clients and generate new business.

Committed to continuous learning and development, Cathy is a member of five major global SEO forums. She uses these groups to draw on expertise across the world to test campaigns, share results, and keep up-to-date with the latest digital marketing techniques. This ensures she stays at the cutting edge of digital marketing.

Laura is an AdWords certified pay per click consultant. She has 10+ years of search and social media advertising experience gained in an Agency setting. Laura has managed lead generation advertising accounts for various types and sizes of clients, including ecommerce companies, service based businesses, and blue chip brands. She is adept at creating results driven campaigns and managing advertising budgets effectively.

Laura believes in building client relationships through two-way communication – that means she ask lots of questions and does plenty of listening in return. She enjoys getting to the heart of her clients’ objectives and becoming part of their team.
